It's no less work then if they had downloaded wineskin winery and created the wrapper themselves.
At least the downloads are smaller, as wineskin engines are compressed a lot more. Also you must have set DDR from OGL to GDI mode to fix the flickering, which is not the right solution to the problem as it blocks the ability to use hardware mode later down the road. The right way is to use an engine with the no flicker patch applied (which includes crossover engines).
You are thinking of the striping out of the imuse dynamic midi system that was in the dos versions. (what little music that is left for cutscenes and concourse stuff is a pre-renderd soundblaster rendition and is terrible next to what a proper midi system can do) Instead they replaced the ingame midi music with Redbook audio of John Williams Score. The lack of the redbook music is due to the way GoG released the game messing with wine. The gog release uses a special wrapper they titled winmm.dll to play the audio in ogg tracks on the harddrive, but sharing the same name as the actual winmm.dll wrecks havoc with wine, so it doesn't work. The thing to do is rename it to something like win32.dll (what they named it in xwing vs tiefighter for some reason) and edit the executable binnary with a text editor and change the 1 instance of winmm.dll to win32.dll Not sure what they mean about ingame dialog?

I tried to install your wrapper but I'm in front of a wall. Let me explain: All goes well until I try to install the.exe file on my hardrive. When I come to: ' Select the setupswxwing2.0.0.5.exe file you downloaded from gog.com' An error message apears and tells me that ' Cannot write to info-plist, there are permission problems, or you are on a read only volume. This cannot run from within a read-only dmg file' And then there is a LOOOOOOONG time charging and finaly: ' Oops! No new executables found!
Maybe the installer failed.? If you try to install somewhere other than C: drive then you will get this message too.' Did I tell you I am a lollypop in computer use?! I want to destroy some Tie Fighters but caaaaaaaaaan't!!!
